Clipper 2002/03
the world's longest circumnavigation race. Tradition has this biennial
yacht race starting in the Solent, on the south coast of England, this
is the first time this world class yacht race has started and finished
in the North of England.
The race organiser
Robin Knox-Johnston announced that the Clipper 2002/03 will start their
journey of 35,000 miles at the Albert Dock, Liverpool on Sunday
27th October 2002.The crews of the eight sixty foot yachts will
be finishing in Liverpool during September 2003.
Liverpool City
Council are among the sponsors of the Liverpool entry, the sixty foot
Liverpool Clipper. The sponsorship includes assisting
three lucky people to join the crew for one of the legs in this race
around the world.
