There is a strong Beatles connection with the Blenheim Lakeside. Stuart Sutcliffe who preceded Paul McCartney as the Beatles bass player lived in 37 Aigburth Drive (now The Blenheim Lodge) where his mother Millie had a flat, in fact she was still living there at the time of Stuart's death of cerebral haemorrhage. Stuart died in the arms of his German photographer girlfriend Astrid Kircherr as an ambulance sped them to hospital on the 10th April 1962. He was just 21 years of age.

A short 10 minute trip to the Albert Dock will find you at The Beatles Story, which is a spectacular walk through experience where you will enjoy the most sensational story the world of popular music has ever known, in the city where it all began. From the Albert Dock a short stroll to Mathew Street will bring you to the legendary Cavern Club (named after the Parisian jazz club "Le Caveau"). John Lennon made his first appearance at The Cavern with "The Quarry Men" on Wednesday 7th August 1957, the rest as they say is history.
